Wetherby Athletic 1-1 Shelley

After a couple of games that saw Wetherby dominate but gain no reward for their efforts, it was a case of third time lucky as they finally opened their account in the West Yorkshire Premier League on Saturday.

Wetherby left it very late however as it took a last minute equaliser from Joe Dorkings to level procedings, after the visitor´s had struck early on in the game.

As has been seen already, Wetherby produced some lovely flowing football to cause Shelley trouble, but to counter, the visitor´s showed why they have had a great start to this campaign with some powerful play of their own and it took Matt Forster and the Wetherby backline to stay strong to deny Shelley goalscoring opportunities.

Hopefully, the team will be able to go one step further against Pool this coming Wednesday (kick-off 6:30pm) and gain all three points.
