National League: Woking 0 Dover Athletic 1 – 05/03/2016


A headed goal from Jack Parkinson was enough for Dover Athletic to seal three points on their travels, as well as keep them well and truly in the hunt for a play-off spot. The Whites lie five points off the final play-off place, but possess three games in hand on their rivals. National League: Gateshead 3 Aldershot Town 2 – 20/02/2016

So I was up in the North East for what should of been an FA Vase Quarter Final between Morpeth Town and Bristol Manor Farm. Unfortunately the pitch at Craik Park fell foul to the weather and saw the match postponed around lunchtime on Friday.

Damn and blast I thought but headed north anyway as hotel, train and friends visiting had already been arranged so sought a replacement game in the area. After much deliberation I decided to make my first visit to the Gateshead International Stadium for a Vanarama National League clash between Gateshead and Aldershot Town. Continue reading…

National League Highlights – 09 February 2016


There were three midweek games played in the National League with contrasting outcomes of importance for the sides involved. Grimsby Town picked up a 2-1 victory away from home against Bromley after going a goal behind in the early stages, to keep their automatic promotion hopes alive. Sean Francis put Bromley in front in the 6th minute, but goals from Jon Nolan and Jon-Paul Pittman secured the win for The Mariners. The three points mean that Grimsby remain in third, and in doing so they cut the gap on Forest Green Rovers and Cheltenham Town above. READ MORE
