There was another fascinating spectacle in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier involving Salford City & Darlington 1883, as they shared seven goals in a thriller. The hosts, Salford City, raced into a two goal lead in the first half thanks to goals from Josh Hine & Chris Lynch, and it stayed that way until the 58th minute, when Darlington pulled one back through Thomas Portas. Danny Webber made it 3-1 to Salford City in the 61st minute, but the contest was far from over as Darlington 1883 scored three goals in the last twenty minutes, to secure a dramatic victory. Ryman Premier

Canvey Island 2 East Thurrock United 4

East Thurrock United reduced the lead to league leaders, Hampton & Richmond Borough, to just one point with an entertaining 4-2 victory away from home against Canvey Island. Canvey Island went 2-0 up after just 16 minutes, thanks to goals from Tony Stokes & Martin Tuohy, but things were to turn sour when they were reduced to ten men in the 24th minute. Lawrence Yiga saw red for bringing down East Thurrock’s star forward, Sam Higgins, inside the area, which ultimately cost Canvey Island dear later on. Higgins scored the resultant spot kick, as well as adding East Thurrock’s fourth and final goal, with goals from Lewis Smith & Tom Wraight sandwiched in between, to guarantee the win for the visitors.
